Diplomat box office collection day 2: The Diplomat (2025) has emerged as one of the most talked-about releases, following the massive success of Chhaava, which dominated the box office earlier this year. John Abraham’s political drama has sparked a considerable discussion with its gripping narrative centred on IFS officer J.P. Singh, who, with the support of then-Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj, successfully orchestrated the rescue of a young Indian woman from Pakistan.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, The Diplomat recorded a steady performance in its first two days. It earned Rs 4 crore on Day 1 (Friday) and ₹3.96 crore on Day 2 (Saturday) till 9 PM, bringing the total to Rs 7.96 crore so far.

Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava continues its strong run, proving to be tough competition. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the film collected Rs 7.25 crore on its fifth Friday, showcasing its enduring popularity in theatres.

Story plot

Directed by Shivam Nair, known for Naam ShabanaThe Diplomat stars John Abraham alongside Sadia Khateeb. The film is inspired by the real-life ordeal of Indian national Uzma Ahmad, who was rescued from Pakistan in 2017 after allegedly being honey-trapped, forced into marriage at gunpoint, and subjected to abuse.
