Kanye West made an unexpected appearance at Sean “Diddy” Combs’ ongoing criminal trial on Friday, according to reports from TMZ and CNN. Arriving at the courthouse dressed in all white and sporting sunglasses, West confirmed to a reporter that he was there to show his support for Combs as the music mogul faces serious allegations. CNN reports that West was directed to the overflow room after briefly shaking hands with Combs’ son, Christian Combs.

West, known for his controversial remarks, including recent antisemitic comments, has voiced his support for Combs in the past. His appearance adds yet another layer of intrigue to a trial that has captured widespread attention.

The case against Combs, one of the most high-profile criminal trials in recent memory, revolves around allegations of abuse and sex trafficking. The trial follows a lawsuit filed by Cassie Ventura, Combs’ ex-girlfriend, in November 2023. Ventura accused Combs of abuse and trafficking, eventually settling for $20 million just one day after filing. During her testimony, she confirmed the settlement and provided details about the alleged abuse.

Earlier this week, Kanye made headlines for changing his name. According to a report by The U.S. Sun on June 9, new business documents filed in California indicate that rapper Kanye West, who legally changed his name to “Ye” in 2021, is now going by “Ye Ye”.The filings were submitted by West’s chief financial officer, Hussain Lalani.

Three of West’s companies—Yeezy Apparel, Yeezy Record Label LLC, and Getting Out Our Dreams Inc.—now list “Ye Ye” in official records, marking yet another shift in the artist’s ongoing rebranding efforts. While the name change is clear in business documents, it’s still uncertain whether Kanye West has also legally changed his personal name to “Ye Ye”. So far, he has made no public statement regarding the matter.
