The death of ‘Friends’ star Matthew Perry has put the public and his loved ones in pain and shock. Jennifer Aniston who played the role of Rachel Green in the comedy series is also dealing with grief after the death of her co-star Matthew Perry. Perry was found dead in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home on November 28. 

In an interview with Diane Sawyer nearly two decades ago, Jennifer Aniston had broken down in tears just at the thought of “losing” him.

The interview which happened almost 20 years ago has resurfaced on the internet after Perry passed away. In the interview Jennifer had said that she considers Matthew as her own family and she got emotional talking about Perry’s struggle with addiction.

When she was questioned about what Matthew “did not know” about himself and needed to hear, she replied, “That he is alright.”

Aniston said, “He struggled”, as she referred to Matthew’s battle with drug and alcohol addiction.

She had said in the interview that during his struggle, the co-actors were not “equipped” to deal with it.

The ‘Friends’ cast which included Jennifer, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer and Lisa Kudrow paid an emotional tribute to their co-star Matthew Perry two days after he passed away. Perry played the character Chandler in the popular American Sitcom ‘Friends’ for 10 seasons for 10 years. 

The cast issued a joint statement in which they said that they were all “so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew”. The statement was obtained by the People magazine in which the cast said, “There is so much to say, but right now we are going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss.”

The cast concluded their statement by saying that they will say more in time, as and when they are able to.
