Anshul Garg has delivered multiple back-to-back musical chartbusters under his labels Desi Music Factory (DMF) and Play DMF. His recent successes include the global collaborations Guli Mata and Yimmy Yimmy, along with many other indie singles including Saanware and Deewane.

With Guli Mata, Anshul brought together Shreya Ghoshal and Moroccan singer Saad Lamjarred. The music video featured Saad alongside Jennifer Winget and in about eight months since its release, the video has crossed 350 million views on YouTube. His next global track, Yimmy Yimmy saw him reunite with Shreya along with French singer Tayc. The video featuring Jacqueliene Fernandez has crossed over 100 million views on YouTube in just over 45 days and is trending everywhere on social media. But interestingly, it all came into being because of singer Neha Kakkar’s love for food.

Before venturing out in the music world, Anshul ran a successful restaurant in Delhi named Kinbuck 2, which he opened in 2015. That’s where Neha had once come to have a meal. “Neha Kakkar had come to my restaurant and she loved our food. So, whenever she would come to Delhi, she would order food from my restaurant and that’s how I got an invitation for her birthday in Mumbai, ” Anshul shares, adding that during the party, he met Neha’s brother, Tony Kakkar and discussed teaming up to open their own record label. Eventually, DMF came into existence post that meeting in 2016.

Under DMF, Anshul has produced independent singles across languages. He also found a new label Play DMF post the first label’s success. Some of his hits include Bolero, Chore Haryane Aale, Judaiyaan, Baarish Aayi Hai and many more. “The first song we made was Akhiyaan with Neha, Tony and Bohemia, and it was a hit. Then we kept on making more music and out of our first five songs, three were huge hits,” he informs. Last year, he also ventured into film music production with the album of Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi starrer Selfie, which includes the hit remake of Main Khiladi Tu Anari.

Anshul’s extraordinary vision has brought him many laurels too. He was featured in the 35 under 35 list by Entrepreneur Magazine in 2022 for having the fastest growing label in the country with DMF. At the Iconic Gold Awards 2024, he was awarded ‘Best Producer’ for his song Guli Mata in the Non-Film song category. Not just that, Anshul also has a successful restaurant business in Delhi. He owns the restaurant Kinbuck 2 and for that, he was awarded the Most Romantic restaurant in 2015 by Zomato. In 2016, the restaurant got the Best Roman and Italian Cuisine award. Anshul surely has the midas touch as anything he touches is turning into gold.
