Shahid Kapoor starrer Deva, directed by renowned Malayalam filmmaker Rosshan Andrrews, is a crime action drama featuring Pooja Hegde, Pavail Gulati, Pravesh Rana and Kubbra Sait, among others. The film also marks Andrrews’ highly anticipated Bollywood debut. On Day 6 (Wednesday), the collection is at Rs 1.04 crore till now. In total, the net India collection of the film touched Rs 25.34 crore as per the latest data.
According to Industry tracker Sacnilk, on Day 1 (Friday), it earned Rs 5.5 crore. Day 2 (Saturday) saw a rise to Rs 6.4 crore, marking an increase of 16.36 per cent. On Day 3 (Sunday), the collection further grew to Rs 7.25 crore, reflecting a 13.28 per cent jump. However, Day 4 (Monday) experienced a significant drop to Rs 2.75 crore, a decline of 62.07 per cent. Day 5 (Tuesday) saw a slight decrease to Rs 2.4 crore, down by 12.73 per cent.
The plot of Deva revolves around ACP Dev Ambre (Shahid Kapoor), a hot-tempered, womanizing cop who loses his memory while investigating the murder of his best friend. The film is a remake of Rosshan Andrrews’ 2013 Malayalam movie Mumbai Police, which featured Prithviraj Sukumaran. While the main storyline remains the same, some changes, especially in the climax, provide a new twist. Pooja Hegde portrays Dev’s girlfriend, Divya Sathaye, a journalist who plays a key role in his journey.
