AGT 20 Winner: The twentieth season of one of the most famous reality show, America’s Got Talent (AGT), has finally come to an end. As the season finale aired on NBC on Wednesday night (local time), the stage was filled with confetti. With blazing fireworks, the winner’s name was announced, and the champion’s cheque made its way into their hand.
Hailing from Texas, Jessica Sanchez was named the winner of America’s Got Talent Season 20. Making her comeback, she auditioned for AGT’s debut season in 2006, and today, she’s 30, married, and the winner of $1 million. Pregnant at nine months, Sanchez stole the show with her winning performance of Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ ‘Die With A Smile’.

Driving the reality show were the judges, Sofía Vergara, Howie Mandel, Simon Cowell, and Mel B. But the Modern Family star‘s comments stood out for Sanchez. Calling her performance “perfection,” Vergara praised her snow-white ensemble, noting that she looked like a “little pregnant angel.” Vergara was the one who gave Sanchez the ‘Golden Buzzer’, giving her a direct pass to the live round of the season finale.
In previous episodes, Sanchez showed great skill when she paired up with aerial specialists Sirca Marea for one last performance of “Golden Hour” by JVKE. Performing in front of the acrobatic pair, “I feel like they made the song come alive,” she later told AGT host Terry Crews. “I mean, they’re just so amazing.”
Sanchez not only left her competitors behind, but she also left the finalists, Mama Duke, Micah Palace, Steve Ray Ladson, Team Recycled, Chris Turner, LightWire, Jourdan Blue, Leo High School Choir, and the high-flying Sirca Marea, behind.
Coming after Sanchez, freestyle rapper Chris Turner came in second, with Jourdan Blue coming in third. Chicago’s Leo High School Choir came fourth, and visual artists LightWire snagged fifth position. Sanchez not only won a cheque for $1 million but also a fully-funded trip to Universal’s new theme park, Epic Universe.
