George Clooney, or Hollywood‘s professional thief (of hearts), has officially confirmed the upcoming Ocean’s heist franchise. Walking down the red carpet, he did not shy away from giving his opinion on the Louvre jewel heist. Speaking to Variety, he was in complete agreement with the similarity of the Paris loot to one of his movies from the franchise.

Almost as if he was impressed with the thieves who executed a heist from one of the most secure locations in the world, he said, “It was cool.” Realising how it may sound, he reiterated, “I mean, it’s terrible. But if you’re a professional thief like I am, I was very proud of those guys.” In fact, he hinted at the theme of the upcoming Ocean’s Fourteen and said, “We should rob the Louvre!” He further added, “But, someone’s already done it, man.”

‘Danny Ocean has to…’

With huge pressure from fans and social media, George Clooney, who plays Danny Ocean, felt compelled to act upon it. “They seem to have done a pretty good job,” he added – almost commending the thieves behind the Louvre jewel heist. In fact, he seemed highly fascinated by the execution of it and said, “I wish I were in the bucket,” describing how the actual thieves escaped.

Several mainstream news organisations had previously remarked that the robbery felt ‘just like Ocean’s!’ Clooney, the Danny Ocean actor, felt pretty fascinated by the same. “It is pretty funny because it really was like it,” he added and impressed by how they pulled it off “in the middle of broad daylight, with all the tourists there.”

Ocean’s Fourteen confirmed

Martin Brest’s heist comedy franchise is back with another, and fans cannot stop hyping it up. After giving memorable pieces like Ocean’s Thirteen (2007) and an all-female spinoff, Ocean’s Eight, in 2018, Ocean’s Fourteen is set to make a comeback after more than a decade.

Confirming to several outlets, Clooney confirmed that the “script is done” and the team is “in great shape.” He also added, “It’s just scheduling now, we’ll get that together by next year.” When asked about the cast, crew, and other details, the multiple Oscar winner shared, “Yeah, Brad [Pitt], Matt [Damon] and Don [Cheadle] and Julia [Roberts]. I had dinner last night with Julia. They’re all still really dear friends. And so, the chance to work together would be fun,” with Variety. Clooney, currently, is getting ready to release ‘Jay Kelly’ in theatres this November, starring beside Adam Sandler.
