The Taj Story Box Office Collection Day 9: The Taj Story, starring Paresh Rawal, is slowly making its mark at the box office. The film entered its second week on Friday and, after a small dip in earnings, picked up again on Saturday. Released on October 31, the movie has now earned around Rs 13.65 crore in India in nine days.
The Taj Story’s box office journey so far
The film opened with Rs 1 crore on its first Friday. It doubled its earnings on Saturday, collecting Rs 2 crore, and grew further on Sunday with Rs 2.75 crore. That gave it a strong first weekend total of Rs 5.75 crore.
As expected, the numbers dropped on Monday to Rs 1.15 crore, but the film managed to stay steady midweek, earning Rs 1.6 crore each on Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday saw a dip to Rs 0.9 crore, taking the first-week total to Rs 11 crore.
In its second week, The Taj Story collected Rs 0.9 crore on Friday and then saw a small jump on Saturday, earning Rs 1.75 crore (as per early estimates). With this, the total nine-day collection has reached Rs 13.65 crore which shows a steady performance.
The Taj Story Day 9 occupancy report
On its ninth day (Saturday), The Taj Story had an overall occupancy rate of 21.30 per cent. Morning shows were slow with just 6.98 per cent occupancy, but the numbers got better later in the day. The afternoon shows had around 18.84 per cent occupancy, evening shows saw 23.19 per cent, and night shows were the best at 36.18 per cent.
The Taj Story: Budget and future expectations
Trade experts estimate that The Taj Story was made on a budget of around Rs 25 crore. With earnings now close to Rs 15 crore, the film still needs to recover a bit more to reach the profit zone. However, the steady growth may help the film enter the profit zone soon.
The movie’s strong hold in cities like Mumbai, Delhi, and Pune shows that people are enjoying its story and performances. If the film continues this way through its second weekend, it could cross the Rs 15 crore mark comfortably.
What The Taj Story is about
Directed by Tushar Amrish Goel and produced by Suresh Jha, The Taj Story shows the journey of Vishnu Das, a local guide who wants to uncover the real history of the Taj Mahal. His search for truth leads him into a courtroom battle that questions long-held beliefs about one of the seven wonders of the world.
The film stars Paresh Rawal in the lead, along with Zakir Hussain, Amruta Khanvilkar, and Namit Das. The film is around 2 hours and 45 minutes long which is a mix of mystery, emotion, and drama.
The Taj Story: Audience reaction
Paresh Rawal’s performance and the film’s gripping courtroom scenes made fans spread positive word of mouth. Many say the movie has something different from the usual Bollywood dramas.
While The Taj Story may not be a big blockbuster yet, it’s slowly winning hearts through strong storytelling and acting. If it continues to perform well in its second week, it could turn out to be one of the year’s most surprising hits.
