‘Mera Bumrah ek taraf…’

As Bangladesh’s innings progressed, host Sanjana Ganeshan interviewed Bobby Deol and Raghav Juyal at the Dubai International Stadium. Catching yesterday’s India vs Bangladesh match live, Bobby Deol praised Team India’s performance throughout the Asia Cup. He specifically lauded Jasprit Bumrah’s performance and how he became an indispensable part of the squad.

Remarking that it was his first time watching a cricket match live, Juyal urged Ganeshan to repeat a dialogue from The Ba***ds of Bollywood. Referring to Emraan Hashmi in the Netflix series, Juyal’s character Parvaiz spoke, “Akhi duniya ek taraf, Emraan Hashmi ek taraf.”

Giving it a cute spin for Ganeshan, he asked her to repeat the dialogue for Bumrah. Speaking on national television, streamed to crores on Sony LIV, she said, “Akhi duniya ek taraf, Mera Bumrah ek taraf. [The entire world is one side, My Bumrah is on the other]”
