‘Tevar’ box office collections: Arjun Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha starrer makes Rs 7 cr on Day 1

‘Tevar’ box office collections: Arjun Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha starrer makes Rs 7 cr on Day 1

Sonakshi Sinha and Arjun Kapoor starrer ‘Tevar’ has opened to an average response in the domestic circuit with a box office collections of Rs 7 crore on the opening day.

For Arjun Kapoor this becomes third highest opener, failing to beat his previous releases, ‘Gunday’ that collected Rs. 16.12 crore and ‘2 States’ that collected Rs 12.42 crore. ‘2 States’ is also Arjun’s sole movie in the Rs 100 crore club.

On the other hand, Tevar’s opening day business has been quite average for Sonakshi Sinha, compared to her past releases. Having five Rs 100 crore movies under her belt, Sonakshi highest opener till date continues to be the Salman Khan starrer Dabangg 2 that collected Rs 21.10 crore. However, ‘Tevar’ manages to surpass films like ‘Lootera’ that collected Rs. 5.15 crore and ‘Joker’ that collected Rs 5 crore.

‘Tevar’ is expected to rein in Aamir Khan ‘PK’ which has had a a massive three week run at the box office.
