Aamir Khan’s latest offering Sitaare Zameen Par continued to perform steadily at the domestic box office, wrapping up its second weekend with a commendable collection. The film, helmed by RS Prasanna, has now become the actor’s sixth highest-grossing title in India, overtaking the lifetime earnings of Ghajini (2008).

In its second Sunday alone, the social drama added approximately Rs 14.50 crore to its earnings, bringing its cumulative 10-day total to Rs 122.65 crore, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.

This is how the film performed this weekend:

Day-wise Box Office Breakdown (India – Nett Collection):

Week 1: Rs 88.9 crore

Second Friday: Rs 6.65 crore

Second Saturday: Rs 12.6 crore

Second Sunday: Rs 14.5 crore

Total (10 Days): Rs 122.65 crore

Despite witnessing a decline from its debut weekend, the dip in footfalls was largely attributed to screen allocation shifts due to the arrival of Maa, which released simultaneously. Nevertheless, the film managed to amass Rs 33.75 crore over its second weekend.

“Sitaare Zameen Par is now looking to surpass the collections of Thugs of Hindostan (₹151.3 crore) by the end of its second week,” said trade analysts tracking the film’s progress.

The film’s upcoming challenge will be to sustain momentum with the release of Metro… In Dino scheduled for this weekend. Whether Sitaare Zameen Par crosses the Rs 150 crore benchmark in its current run remains to be seen, but the early indicators suggest it’s well on track.
