Shraddha reveals details about injury in AMA session on Instagram
Shraddha gave fans the first official update during an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on Instagram. When a fan asked about her injury, she shared a video showing her leg wrapped in plaster. She said, “Terminator ki tarah ghoom rahi hoon. Muscle tear hai. Theek ho jaayega. Bas thoda rest karna hai but I’ll be absolutely fine.” She added that while the injury hurts, it is not serious and will heal with proper rest.
She also revealed that she has already completed shooting for another film, though she couldn’t speak about it since it has not been officially announced. Currently, she is working on Eetha, directed by her boyfriend Rahul Mody. Shraddha described the film as a story set in the world of start-ups and hustle culture. She said she is choosing roles that challenge her creatively, and Eetha is one such project.
How did the injury happened
According to a report in Mid-Day, Shraddha got injured while shooting a Lavani dance number composed by Ajay–Atul. Lavani is known for its fast beats, energetic footwork, and quick rhythmic movements. Shraddha was dressed in a bright Nauvari saree, heavy jewellery, and a kamarpatta, playing a young Vithabai. To get into the character, she had also gained more than 15 kilos.
The source revealed that during a rapid step in the routine, Shraddha accidentally shifted all her weight onto her left foot. The sudden imbalance caused her to lose stability, leading to the muscle tear in her leg.
What happens in a muscle tear?
A muscle tear occurs when muscle fibres stretch too far and begin to tear. This usually happens during sudden, forceful movements, heavy strain, or intense physical activity. The symptoms can include sharp pain, swelling, stiffness, and difficulty moving the injured area.
Recovery time varies depending on the severity of the tear. Mild muscle tears usually heal within one to three weeks, while moderate tears can take around four to eight weeks to recover. Severe muscle tears may require several months of healing along with physiotherapy or medical treatment.
What’s next for Shraddha Kapoor
Along with Eetha, Shraddha has also voiced Judy Hopps in the Hindi version of Disney’s Zootopia 2, which is set to release in cinemas on November 28.
