After reaching a record high on Sunday, Aamir Khan-starrer ‘PK’ box office collections fell to Rs 18.85 crore on Tuesday. The film’s business had touched the Rs 100-crore mark on Day 4 (Monday), collecting Rs 116.63 crore in the domestic box office.

Salman Khan’s ‘Kick’ collection had been Rs 28.89 crore on Day 5 but this was due to ‘Eid’ holiday. Dhoom 3 made Rs 20.14 crore  and the year’s biggest opener ‘Happy New Year’ made Rs 13.17 crore on first Tuesday.

‘PK’, the biggest non-holiday opener of the year, broke the all-time Day 3 record set by ‘Dhoom 3’ (Rs 38.03 crore) before closing the first weekend with Rs 95.21 crore. But the film failed to equal the record shared by the third installment of ‘Dhoom’ series and Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Happy New Year’.

The box office collections of ‘PK’ now stands at Rs 135.48 crore and the business is all set to go up ahead of Christmas Day holiday tomorrow.

Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer got positive response from the audience and critics for its gripping storyline and powerful performances. Produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Hirani and UTV, the film also stars Sanjay Dutt and Sushant Singh Rajput in pivotal roles and Ranbir Kapoor makes an appearance too, in keeping with the secrecy and surprise factor that the filmmakers promoted in the run-up to the release.
