Phule movie plot
As the trailer shows, the movie is not just a simple traditional freedom fighters movie. The movie sends across the message to bring change through activism. Unlike other movies based on freedom struggle which include army, weapons and wars, Phule is simple but powerful weapon is chalk or pen. It’s a war of ideas and thoughts.
Jyotirao Phule, born in a lower caste family, just gets a chance to study because few benefactors felt pity for him. This gave Jyotirao a chance to bring change for others and those behind him. He took upon himself to make sure that everyone gets the right to educate, especially dalits and women.
He started to bring this change from his own house as he started teaching his wife, Savitribai. She not only learnt to read and write but also went out to teach other girls who were told to just marry off and serve their husband.
Phule movie is a journey of two people who not only thought but actually brought the change in societal norms and how people think. Even after facing several challenges how both the reformers managed to sow the seeds of the social justice movement in modern India.
