OK Jaanu first look: Karan Johar took to Twitter to reveal the first look of OK Jaanu today, which shows Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in a cosy moment in a sepia-tinted photo. “You have a date with unabashed and unapologetic LOVE on the 13th of Jan!! ADITYA ROY KAPUR and SHRADDHA KAPOOR IN #OkJaanu,” he wrote. In this romantic drama, we’ll see Aditya and Shraddha’s characters entering a live-in relationship after deciding that they don’t believe in marriage.
OK Jaanu, which is set to be released on January 17 next year, is directed by Shaad Ali, who had previously helmed Saathiya. The film, produced by Mani Ratnam and KJo, is a remake of Ratnam’s OK Kanmani and AR Rahman has composed the music for the flick with lyrics by Gulzar. It wouldn’t be Ali’s first time remaking a Tamil film, as Saathiya too was based on the Tamil hit Alaipayuthey.
Ok Jaanu’s poster is very similar to its Tamil counterpart, which saw the leads, Dulquer Salman and Nithya Menen, striking the exact same pose. According to a report in Indian Express, the film also boasted of spectacular cinematography, so let’s hope that the Hindi version of the romantic film will live up to the original.
Johar had previously hinted at the release of the first look by tweeting a picture of the Mumbai skyline with the caption, “Kal figure out kar lena…..” The clue was quite telling because the first poster of Ok Jaanu featured Aditya and Shraddha embracing with Mumbai’s Marine Drive in the background. Plus, it’s also a play on words of the film’s tagline “Figure out kar lenge,” which also appear on the poster. We’re guessing fans are ready to see Aditya and Shraddha romance each other once again after treating us to their sizzling chemistry in Aashiqui 2.
