Bollywood stars Akshay Kumar, Farhan Akhtar, Rajkummar Rao, Janhvi Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, and others were seen early Monday morning casting their votes for the Lok Sabha elections in Mumbai. Polling began at 7 am across 13 constituencies in Maharashtra, including six in Mumbai.
After casting his vote, actor Akshay Kumar said, “I want my India to be developed and strong, and I kept these things in mind when I went to cast my vote. All Indians should think about what is right for them and vote.” This marks his first time voting since obtaining Indian citizenship.
While waiting to vote in Bandra West, Akhtar shared with PTI, “My vote is for good governance, a government that looks after all the people and gives us a better city.” He urged people, especially the youth, to come out and vote despite the heat, emphasizing the importance of participating in the democratic process.
Actor Rajkummar Rao, after casting his vote, stated, “It is a big responsibility towards our country. Through us, if people can get influenced, that’s the biggest thing we can do to make people aware of the importance of voting. I’m very happy that the Election Commission chose me to be a national icon, and I appeal to all to please come out and cast your vote. We all want our nation to grow and shine, and I’m sure it’s going to shine even more.”
Shahid Kapoor took to Instagram to share a picture of his inked finger, captioning it, “Cast your vote, every vote matters.”

Veteran actor Dharmendra was also seen casting his vote in Mumbai during the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. Actress and MP Hema Malini, along with her daughter Esha Deol, voted at a Mumbai polling booth. Suniel Shetty fulfilled his civic duty by casting his vote on Monday morning.
Other Bollywood celebrities who voted in the morning included Sanya Malhotra and filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker. Gowariker urged people to vote through a post on X, saying, “Vote because you have a choice! Vote because you have a voice! Vote because it is your duty! Vote because it is your right! #Election2024 #LokSabhaElection2024 #Vote #VotingDay,” alongside a photo of himself.
Bollywood diva Janhvi Kapoor was also seen at St. Anne’s School polling center in Mumbai casting her vote.

Veteran actor Shubha Khote arrived with her actor-daughter Bhavana Balsavar to cast their votes. “I’ve come here and want everyone to vote for the right person. Whatever is needed, we should get that. I hope everyone gets inspired watching us and comes out to vote,” Khote said after voting at Gandhigram School in Juhu.
