Kantara Chapter 1 Box Office Collection Day 7: Rishab Shetty has made history with Kantara A Legend: Chapter 1. Becoming one of the highest-grossers in Kannada cinema, Kantara has been a huge win at the box office. With a Rs 74.25 crore gross collection on its opening day in India, Kantara established its weekend with a total of Rs 141.5 crore, according to Sacnilk.
The industry tracker also reported a 50% decline on its first Monday, collecting Rs 31.5 crore on Day 5. Ending the first week strong, Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 has soared past the Rs 300 crore mark with ease. Entering the Rs 400 crore club worldwide, this Kannada action-thriller has also garnered a huge share from its Hindi audience. Despite seeing a minor increase on its second Tuesday, Day 7 brought a 27% decline after collecting Rs 25 crore.
Kantara Chapter 1 has not only given competition to its parallel Dussehra release, Bollywood’s Sunny Sanskari ki Tulsi Kumari, but also broken several records within the Kannada film industry. This Rishab Shetty film has also set a high benchmark for regional storytelling, folklore, and visual effects. Garnering praise from throughout the industry, Rishab Shetty has been praised by the likes of filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, Mohandas Pai, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta, Prakash Raj, and many others.
Kantara Chapter 1 Box Office Day 7: Occupancy dips
Seven days after its theatrical release, Kantara Chapter 1 had a 55% overall occupancy rate in Kannada. Numbers saw a major hit in Bengaluru (54.75%), Kalaburagi (35.75%), and Mangalore (40.75%), which earlier reported numbers above 80%. Impacted largely by the Hindi audience, the overall occupancy for Kantara Chapter 1 in Hindi lowered to 16.41%, Pune reporting the maximum numbers (27%).
Overall, Kantara has become the second biggest Kannada film in worldwide collections so far. While KGF: Chapter 1 (2022) tops the chart with a Rs 1215 crore gross worldwide box office collection, Kantara (2022) comes third with Rs 407.82 crore. The rest of the rankings are:

Kantara Chapter 1 has also left behind several Bollywood records and has beaten the industry’s biggest performers, such as Chhaava and Saiyaara. Overall, it also beat Pawan Kalyan’s OG opening day records but could not match Rajinikanth’s Coolie.
