About Kantara Chapter 1

Written and directed by Rishab Shetty, Kantara Chapter 1 serves as a prequel to the 2022 blockbuster Kantara, set nearly a thousand years before its events. The film also stars Rukmini Vasanth, Jayaram, and Gulshan Devaiah in pivotal roles.

With its strong box office run, Kantara Chapter 1 has joined Coolie, Saiyaara, and Chhaava as the fourth Indian film of 2025 to cross the Rs 500 crore mark.

If its current momentum continues, Kantara Chapter 1 is well on its way to becoming an all-time blockbuster, and possibly, one of the highest-grossing Indian films ever made.
