Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment’s Jurassic World: Rebirth has delivered a terrific performance at the global box office, far exceeding the expectations of viewers and fans. The seventh installment in the long-running dinosaur saga initiated by Steven Spielberg, Jurassic World: Rebirth has amassed $147.8 million over five days in North America, including $92 million across the standard three-day weekend. The film debuted midweek on July 2, and estimates saw upward revisions daily through the holiday frame.

On the international front, Rebirth posted an even stronger showing, collecting an estimated $174.8 million across 82 global territories, bringing its worldwide numbers to $322.6 million. This is the second-highest global opening in franchise history, as well as 2025’s biggest international debut for a Hollywood release.

One of the film’s standout international performances came from China, where Rebirth opened to $41.5 million, making it China’s largest Hollywood opening of the year. Despite declining interest in American titles in the Chinese market, the Jurassic series, along with Mission: Impossible, continues to draw crowds. Other top-grossing regions for the film included the United Kingdom ($16.6 million) and Mexico ($14 million).

Meanwhile, Scarlett Johansson has created a record in box office history, becoming the highest-grossing actor globally, with her films now having generated a cumulative $14.8 billion worldwide. This came after her leading role in Jurassic World: Rebirth, where she stars as Zora Bennett, which grossed massive numbers worldwide.

The role marks Johansson’s first appearance in the Jurassic franchise, taking the lead from previous star Chris Pratt.

According to industry tracking site The Numbers, Johansson’s record-breaking earnings stem from 36 lead and ensemble roles, including her immensely successful stint as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The MCU alone has contributed more than $8.7 billion to her global earnings tally, particularly blockbusters like Avengers: Endgame and Captain America: Civil War.

Her total also includes notable performances such as her debut in Iron Man 2 and her voice role as the porcupine Ash in the animated Sing films.

At 40 years old, Johansson surpasses past titleholders Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Downey Jr., both of whom earned their box office positions through Marvel roles. Tom Hanks and Chris Pratt round out the top five.

Remarkably, Johansson achieved this record with significantly fewer appearances than her peers. Jackson has 71 qualifying roles, Downey Jr. 45 , underscoring her ability to drive massive earnings with a leaner filmography.
