Hollywood film Jurassic World, fourth in the Jurassic series, released today in India and has pulled a box office collections surprise by doing better than the Bollywood release Hamari Adhuri Kahani, which stars Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan. So, much so, that while Jurassic World logged an occupancy rate in theatres of 50%, Hamari Adhuri Kahani managed just 20%.

On the whole, while Jurassic World is expected to dominate this weekend’s box office collections, Hamari Adhuri Kahani, which received less than desirable reviews across the spectrum will have to rely heavily on good word of mouth, as well as Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan fan following to pump up the take.

Jurassic World action takes place on the same island as the old Jurassic Park, off the coast of Costa Rica, that is now home to a huge and carefully monitored dinosaur theme park.

Trouble strikes soon enough, of course. A group of highly qualified scientists have created a hybrid dinosaur called Indominus Rex as the main attraction of the theme park. All hell breaks loose when the “creation” escapes and goes on a rampage. Indominus Rex is a highly intelligent and a vicious creature.

The action is slick and the scares are worth remembering.
