Sunny Deol is back in action, and his powerful presence is drawing audiences to the theatres once again. His latest release, Jaat, hit the big screens on Thursday, April 10, and has made a solid start at the box office.
The film opened with a strong collection of Rs 9.5 crore on Day 1, marking an impressive return for Deol, especially in mass circuits and single screens. While it didn’t quite match the mammoth Rs 40.1 crore opening of Gadar 2, Jaat has carved out its own successful path.
Day 2 collections
According to early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk, Jaat earned approximately Rs 3.88 crore on Friday, taking its two-day total to Rs 13.38 crore in India. These numbers, recorded at 7 PM on April 11, may be updated as final figures roll in.
The film has outperformed Salman Khan’s Sikandar in terms of buzz and box office momentum since its release. However, it trails behind Good Bad Ugly, the Tamil action film starring Ajith Kumar, which opened to a staggering Rs 28.5 crore.
Star-studded action and emotional drama
Directed by Gopichand Malineni, Jaat features Randeep Hooda as the menacing antagonist Rana Tunga. The ensemble cast includes Regina Cassandra, Saiyami Kher, Vineet Kumar Singh, Ramya Krishnan, Babloo Prithiveeraj, and Jagapathi Babu in key roles.
Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, Zee Studios, and People Media Factory, the action-packed drama blends high-octane sequences with emotional storytelling. Jaat is currently playing in theatres across India in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil.
As the weekend unfolds, all eyes are on how the film continues to perform at the box office.
