Bollywood veteran Dharmendra, famously known as the original He-man and cheekily called Garam Dharam owing to his hot-blooded onscreen persona is one of the most legendary actors in the industry. With a career spanning six decades and hits like Sholay, Seeta aur Geeta, Raja Jani, Dharam Veer and many more under his belt, the superstar has lived many lives both on and off screen.

The actor has a legacy that few can only dream of – having appeared in 300 movies, a recipient of dozens of prestigious awards and critically acclaimed by critics of all generations. The 89-year-old has also amassed impressive real estate properties over the course of his life and today we will take a look at one of them: The famous 100-acre farm which is a quiet retreat for Dharmendra and his family.

The 100-acre Lonavala farm where Dharmendra prioritizes peace and quiet

Born to a family with deep ties to agriculture in Sahnewal, Punjab, Dharmendra’s connection to the land always remained strong despite his glitzy and glamorous career as an actor. This is glaringly obvious even today when one considers his destination of choice for rest and relaxation: The serene 100-acre farm in Lonavala where he happens to spend most of his time.

The farm is quiet and hidden away by a foliage of trees which affords the star a semblance of privacy. Farm fields where the actor actually cultivates crops and rears animals are a-plenty and winding paths make for a scenic view according to a report by MoneyControl. The farmhouse that sits on this massive property has been built in a rustic style with warm wooden furnishings, cosy sofas and ambient lighting – comfort and a homely atmosphere have been given a clear preference in the case for décor.

According to NDTV, the farm is also equipped with a heated outdoor swimming pool where the Padma Bhushan awardee undertakes aqua therapy; Dharmendra’s peaceful retreat away from city life manages to be the perfect blend of rural and urban, leaving no stone unturned when it comes to comfort. The property comes equipped with a stunning lake, mango trees, a variety of flowers and domestic animals which are allowed to roam free as per a report by DNA India.

The vast property allows the actor to truly unwind and be himself. According to the same DNA report, Dharmendra also practices yoga, goes for walks and gardens on the farm surrounded by the clean air of the mountains nearby, lush greenery and a quiet that comes from being a long way out of the city.

Dharmendra’s recent bout of illness

The legendary actor was recently discharged from Mumbai’s Breach Candy hospital after being admitted for breathlessness. A major panic shook up the public as reports of his supposed passing were rife on social media. Major media agencies and public figures even posted condolences despite the fact that no reliable information was released. However, fans of the star could finally rest as news of his discharge was announced on November 12 2025.

Family members like son Sunny Deol, daughter Esha Deol and wife Hema Malini rubbished said rumours and requested privacy as the actor headed out. They also confirmed that the Bollywood superstar was stable and recovering in the privacy of his own home.
