A vlogger from the United States, seemingly not on his first visit to India, said that he is overwhelmed with emotion and on the verge of crying. He further made a heartfelt appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for an Aadhaar card.

‘I want an Aadhaar card’

“8 hours left in my favourite country,” the vlogger, who goes by the username gabhruji, wrote while sharing a video on Instagram.

The video opens to show him riding pillion, as he speaks about his love for India. “Narendra Modi, this is for you. My name is Gabruji, and I want an Aadhaar card. Here’s why.”

He goes on to explain that with only a few hours left in the country, he was feeling emotional since he was “deeply moved and touched” by his experiences in India.

“I have eight hours left in India, and I actually might start crying right now. The last time that I made this video, I literally did start crying. I’m so deeply moved and touched by everything in this country,” he expresses.

‘India has it all’

He also reflects on common perceptions, adding that people often assume foreigners “have it all,” but he believes India offers far more.

“They think that, oh, you know, you just have it all because you’re white. No, I actually think they have it all. This country has it all. You want people to clean your house? They have that,” he further states, before adding, “You want people to take you on a motorcycle through the sidewalk? They have that,” as the rider takes him through the sidewalk to avoid being stuck in traffic.

He continues, “You want street food any time of day? They have that. And I just want to say thank you, India. I am going to deeply, deeply miss you. Until next time.”

Viral video resonates with social media users

The video, which was shared five days ago, resonated with the viewers so much so that it has received over 2.7 million views. Many even took to the comments section of the post to share their thoughts.

“I feel this! I’m in India now and already dreading going home to Australia. My husband is Punjabi. We are currently visiting his parents for 3 months. Every time I come to visit, I marvel at how the Western media has misrepresented this country. It’s the most amazing place on earth, and the people are what make it so. The most welcoming, and humble people and also the most fun!” said one social media user.

Another added, “I’m French, and 13 years ago I fell deeply in love with India. I left a comfortable corporate life in Europe, resigned from my job, and followed my intuition to Pondicherry — where I built a company from nothing. Along the way, I fell in love with a Tamil woman… and with a culture that keeps teaching me something new every single day. India changed me. It humbles you, challenges you, and opens your heart. India has so much to teach the world — if we take the time to listen. And if you ever feel lost in the Indian administrative maze (Aadhaar, PAN card…), I’ve walked that road too. You’re not alone — just reach out.”

A third expressed that she cries every time she leaves India.

“I can relate so much, brother. I lived 4 months in India, and leaving was just incredibly sad. I left about 2 weeks back, and I’m still thinking about it every single day,” yet another social media user expressed.
