Despite a steady stream of movies releases over the last two weeks, Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer ‘PK’ box office collections have managed to maintain a steady pace with domestic take touching Rs 334.53 crore.

The trade website Koimoi has pegged ‘PK’ box office collections for the fifth weekend at Rs 2.85 crore with Rs 60 lakh from Friday, Rs 1 crore on Saturday and Rs 1.25 crore on Sunday with the new releases not making much headway.

‘PK’ business in the 4th week has been around Rs 12 crore.

The Rajkumar Hirani directed ‘PK movie has been on a sensational record-breaking spree, setting the bar so much higher for new comers and in the process obliterating every record that came before it.

‘PK’ box office collections have a gross take of nearly Rs 635 cr, which is now within sight of another benchmark – Rs 650 crore. The movie has collected nearly Rs 160 crore in the overseas market, performing exceptionally well in major markets like the United States/Canada, Australia and the UK. ‘PK’ has done well not far from Indian borders too, as reported by ‘Dawn’, which says movie collected over Rs 18 crore in Pakistan.

As far as the big numbers are concerned in the domestic market, the social-satire collected Rs 100+ crore in four days, Rs 200+ crore in nine days and Rs 300+ crore in 17 days.This is in spite of protests across the country seeking ban of the movie for allegedly hurting religious sentiments. The film, which was released on December 19, takes a swipe at organised religion and godmen.
