Marvel fans who missed the movie in cinemas can watch Fantastic Four: First Steps from the comforts of their home as the latest installment from the superhero franchise has hit the digital platforms.

Released on July 25, 2025, the film is set in the 1960s of a retro-futuristic world which the Fantastic Four must protect from the planet-devouring cosmic being Galactus. Mister Fantastic/Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) face a daunting challenge to defend the Earth.

According to Box Office Mojo, the film’s worldwide collection after nine weekends stands at $520.58 million with the film surpassing the global hauls of movies like The Hangover and Gladiator II.

Opened to mixed reviews

Jonathan Romney of Financial Times noted that while the film doesn’t reinvent the superhero genre, it is uncluttered, good-natured and altogether good value, giving it a rating of 4 out of 5.

USA Today’s Brian Truitt felt that the movie “finally gets its heroes right, after so many tries.”

“Third best superhero movie this year after Thunderbolts and Superman imo. Started really strong but the ending was too rushed and contrived for me to not leave the theater with a bad taste in my mouth,” wrote a Reddit user.
