De De Pyaar De 2 box office collection day 6: Ajay Devgn returns to the screen, this time swapping his police avatar for a dose of romance and humour. With the sequel to De De Pyaar De hitting theatres on November 14, the film is now wrapping up its first week and has been warmly received by fans as well as new audiences.

The story once again dives into love caught between age gaps, social judgment and family expectations. Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh, playing a couple trying to bridge their age difference, attempt to win their families over in their signature lighthearted, chaotic style.

At the box office, De De Pyaar De 2 started with a respectable Rs 8.75 crore on day one, followed by a strong 40% jump on Saturday with collections crossing Rs 12 crore. Sunday added another boost, taking the opening weekend total past Rs 25 crore.

Weekdays brought the usual dip, with Monday dropping to Rs 4.25 crore. On Tuesday, the film managed Rs 5 crore, bringing its domestic five-day total to around Rs 44 crore. On Day 6, the mid-week collections brought in Rs 3.5 crore, taking the total tally to Rs 47.75 crore, as it races towards the Rs 50 crore mark. Globally, the romantic-comedy has grossed Rs 15.75 crore, making the De De Pyaar De 2 worldwide box office collection Rs 68.5 crore.

There was a sharp dip in occupancy rates as the first week came closer to its end. De De Pyaar De 2, overall, managed to fill just 8.4% seats across the nearly 4000 shows in India. Only Jaipur, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, and Mumbai gave double-digit occupancy numbers.

The Anshul Sharma directorial also stars Ishita Dutta, Meezaan Jaffrey, Javed Jaffrey, and Gautami Kapoor in key roles. As the ‘father of the bride’, netizens have praised Madhavan’s performance. They have also loved the comeback of Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan, sharing the screen after Shaitaan.
