CN Website Shuts Down: The multinational mass media and entertainment firm Warner Bros. Discovery has officially shut down the website of Cartoon Network after running for 26 years. It has been noted that when a user is visiting the page cartoonnetwork.com they are directed to the Max streaming service. The streaming service is also owned by Warner Bros. In the case of India, viewers are headed towards Cartoon Network India’s YouTube channel if logging on to the main page channel. The Youtube channel page is appearing because Max services are not available in India.
Shifting towards Max and cable app options
According to a spokesperson of Cartoon Network while talking to Variety mentions,” We are aiming at the Cartoon Network shows and social media where we find viewers are most connected and there is meaningful potential of growth. Despite the closure of the website, the network will continue to telecast 11 hours of television content from 6 am to 5 pm daily.
A message will pop up on the screen when one visits the Max website and it says, ”Looking for your favourite Cartoon Network shows? Check what is available to stream on Max (a subscription is required for logging in).” Cable subscribers have been advised to continue using connected apps simultaneously with television viewing.
