The festival of lights is about to get a lot brighter for movie lovers. Rashmika Mandanna, one of India’s most loved pan-Indian stars, is returning to the big screen with Thamma, which releases this Diwali, October 21. Produced by Maddock Films, Thamma is part of the studio’s expanding Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU) that gave us hits like Stree, Bhediya, and Munjya.

The trailer, which recently dropped online, has already created a buzz. Thamma gives us a glimpse into a vampire love story with Rashmika opposite Ayushmann Khurrana. Fans are calling it a refreshing mix of horror, comedy, and romance and just can’t wait for the release.

But beyond Thamma, it’s Rashmika’s impressive track record that’s making headlines. Over the past few years, she has become one of the most adored stars in Indian cinema as she has been delivering back-to-back blockbuster hits across languages. So before Thamma’s release, here we have listed some of her hits that you must watch.

From Geetha Govindam to Animal

Rashmika first won hearts with her 2018 romantic comedy Geetha Govindam, opposite Vijay Deverakonda. The film became a huge hit due to its sweet chemistry and catchy music, earning around Rs 132 crore worldwide.

Then came Pushpa: The Rise (2021), where Rashmika’s role as Srivalli opposite Allu Arjun made her a household name across India. The film became a pop culture moment, from its chartbuster songs to Allu Arjun’s iconic ‘Pushpa Jhukega Nahi’ dialogue. It went on to collect over Rs 360 crore worldwide, which established Rashmika as one of the top female stars in the South.

Then came Animal (2023), one of the biggest blockbusters of the decade. Starring alongside Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika’s emotional performance as Geetanjali won praise from both critics and fans. The action drama opened to a record-breaking Rs 63.8 crore on day one and went on to earn a massive Rs 915 crore worldwide making it one of the highest openers in Bollywood history.

The golden streak continues with Pushpa 2, Chhaava, and Sikandar

Rashmika’s rise in the film industry didn’t stop there. Pushpa 2: The Rule (2024), the sequel to the 2021 hit, was another box office hit. With Allu Arjun returning as Pushpa Raj, the film broke several box office records and earned over Rs 650 crore worldwide. Once again, Rashmika’s Srivalli became one of the most loved characters on screen.

In early 2025, she starred in Chhaava, a historical action drama with Vicky Kaushal. The film opened strong at Rs 33.1 crore and went on to earn around Rs 412 crore globally, with Rashmika’s role as Sambhaji Maharaj’s wife, as Yesubai Bhonsale.

Her next release, Sikandar, continued her golden run. The film opened at Rs 30.06 crore and eventually crossed Rs 480 crore worldwide, marking her third consecutive blockbuster in Bollywood.

Can Thamma keep Rashmika’s blockbuster streak alive?

Now, with Thamma, Rashmika enters an all-new genre which is horror comedy with a romantic twist. If the film manages to open with Rs 20 crore or more, it will mark her fourth consecutive 20-crore opening in Bollywood, a rare feat for any actress. Trade experts believe Thamma has everything that can make it a festive hit.
