Avatar Fire and Ash movie reviews: One of the longest franchises in cinema, the much-awaited Avatar is back again. Created by James Cameron, Avatar Fire and Ash hit the Indian screens on December 19. However, the mixed reviews on social media have left the internet divided. The film is aiming for a $340 million worldwide box office collection, as per Deadline, after Avatar: Way of Water debuted to $310 million in the global markets.

As the loyalists line up to catch Avatar: Fire and Ash on the big screen to take in James Cameron’s Pandora, the Internet reviews come with their share of warnings. While some fans feel that it was ‘the longest film’ they ever watched, some could not take their eyes off the breathtaking visuals. The third part in the series is part of a four-decade dedication from the makers – here’s what the Twitterati think about the recent release.

Avatar Fire and Ash movie reviews

Avatar: Fire and Ash has a 197-minute (3 hours 17 minutes) runtime, and this holiday release is expected to break its own record. As fans praise the ‘breathtaking visuals’, others complain about the repetitive overarching plot of the Avatar franchise. At the same time, the uniqueness of it all has kept fans on the edge of their seat.

A review on X (formerly Twitter) read, “I’m lowkey a little conflicted on this one, but despite my gripes, there’s still nothing like this oh my god. How am I supposed to hold out until 2029?” As viewers are already looking forward to a rewatch, the fandom is alive, thriving, and well. At the same time, there are several reviews dragging the new James Cameron movie through the mud. A user on X shared that it ‘frustrates, underwhelms, and disappoints,’ Avatar: Fire and Ash was also termed as the ‘longest movie ever’.

“Sorry, guys, but I wasn’t impressed,” wrote another dejected fan on social media, rating the movie 2.5 stars on 5. “Avatar: Fire and Ash prioritises action over world-building, introducing new clans and darker themes, but struggles with pacing issues and repetitive elements,” opined another netizen. “You can feel James Cameron’s devotion to his characters, even when his interest outstrips our own,” read another comment.

But the incomparable spectacle in the land of Pandora has also been called the ‘most expensive video game cutscene,’ as per other reports. “James Cameron’s breathtaking visuals can’t mask how mind-numbingly boring the film is,” wrote a user. However, the darker plot and intensified action have evoked several emotions among the audience members. But fans cannot help but compare it to its 2022 predecessor, Avatar: Way of Water.
