Rishab Shetty’s Kantara has kick-started the festive box office with a bang. The Dussehra release has been smashing records ever since its release on October 2 and has now entered the list of the top 10 highest-grossing films of 2025. With the stellar starcast comprising of Rishabh Shetty, Rukmini Vasanth, and Gulshan Deviah among others, the film collected approximately. Rs 20 crore in advance bookings, according to Sacnilk.
The film didn’t slow down from there, and as the word of mouth about the gripping narrative and captivating climax spread, the ticket sales went over the roof. The film collected Rs 500 crore in extended first week, according to the data.
Rishab Shetty, has especially been receiving praises from all quarters for his direction as well as performance. Needless to say, people can’t wait to see him his next project soon.

Ashwin Gangaraju’s historical drama
Next, the actor will be seen in a historical drama set in 18th-century Bengal, helmed by filmmaker Ashwin Gangaraju, and produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi’s Sithara Entertainments. Ganaraju’s debut directorial was Aakashavaani.
In July 2025, Rishab announced the untitled project on social media: “My next film, may your blessings always be with you Smiling face with smiling eyes. Not all Rebels are forged in Battle. Crossed swords Some are chosen by Destiny And this is that story of a Rebel..”
The film will be made in both Telugu and Kannada and dubbed in Tamil, Hindi, and Malayalam, making it easy for fans to watch and enjoy it in their own language.
Jai Hanuman
The second film in director Prasanth Varma’s HanuMAn universe, Jai Hanuman will be produced by Mythri Movie Makers and star Rishab Shetty in the lead. The first look poster of the film has already left fans asking for more, with its striking look.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, the actor revealed why he said yes to Jai Hanuman. “Prashant Verma has done a fabulous job on the script. The story is so interesting, I thought there shouldn’t be any commitment before this, let’s finish it and then see and then do something.”
“When Prashant Verma came and told me the story, I couldn’t refuse. Immediately, I told him, ‘yes, let’s do this.’ After that, we did a photoshoot, and its work is also going on. After the release of Kantara, we’ll fix a date and start.”
The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapathi Shivaji Maharaj
The Kantara star has also been signed for the upcoming biopic of Chhatrapathi Shivaji Maharaj, directed by Sandeep Singh. The first look of the film was released earlier this year on Shivaji’s 395th birth anniversary, on February 19, 2025. However, audiences will have to wait for the film’s release as it is scheduled to hit the theatres on January 21, 2027. The film also stars Zanai Bhosle as Rani Sai Bhonsale.
