Live: The 2025 Melon Music Awards have finally arrived, and so have the top celebrities of the night. Organised by Kakao Entertainment, the highly anticipated K-pop awards show was held at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on Saturday, December 20. The 17th edition of the prestigious affair went ahead with the theme “Play the Moment” this time.
All music released between October 31, 2024, and November 19, 2025, was eligible for all award categories.
Notably, EXO’s DO aka Doh Kyungsoo skipped his dear friend and fellow actor Kim Woo Bin’s wedding to present a united front with his K-pop group members Chanyeol, Suho, Kai and Suho (minus EXO-CBX singers Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin). The group’s outing at the 17th Melon Music Awards was already poised to be a glistening highlight of the day, especially since this marks the beloved boy group’s first MMA performance in eight years.
Other top stars to walk the red carpet on Saturday were K-pop idols and groups BLACKPINK’s Jennie, aespa, IVE, BOYNEXTDOOR, ILLIT, WOODZ, ALLDAY PROJECT, RIIZE, Hearts2Hearts, ALPHA DRIVE ONE, IDID and KiiiKiii, among others. The show was livestreamed on the official YouTube channels of 1theK and Melon for international audiences, excluding a few exceptions.
