- Begin the day with a bath, symbolizing spiritual cleansing
- Take a solemn vow (sankalp) to observe the Satyanarayan fast, dedicating the day to devotion
- Thoroughly clean your home and puja space before placing the idols
- Set up an idol of Lord Satyanarayan, accompanied by the Shree Yantra (representing Goddess Lakshmi). Decorate the idol with a yellow flower garland, sweets, and offer Tulsi leaves, an essential offering for Lord Vishnu
- Chant Lord Vishnu’s mantras to invoke his presence and place a kalash (sacred pot) in front of the idol
