The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission or UPPSC has announced the exam date for PCS Prelims 2024. The examination, which was initially planned for earlier this year, has now been scheduled for December 22, 2024. This happens to be the fourth rescheduling of this exam. The examination, originally scheduled for March 17, was postponed multiple times due to different reasons, including protests in Prayagraj.

As per the official notification, the preliminary examination of UPPSC PCS will be conducted in a single day but in two different phases. The first session will begin from 9.30 AM and will last up to 11.30 AM. The second phase would be from 2.30 PM to 4.30 PM. The decision came after a series of student protests with demands for conducting the exam in one shift instead of over two days. There have also been interventions by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, where, in an appeal, he requested the UPPSC to rationalize the change in the schedule.

The commission had initially planned to hold the exam on 7 and 8 December, but in view of public unrest, the dates of the exam have now been changed. The decision to hold the exam in a single day was welcomed by many students and has now been confirmed by the commission.

When will the admit card for the UPPSC PCS Prelims 2024 exam be released?

Candidates who have successfully filled out application forms for the UPPSC PCS exam will be eligible to download their admit cards, which are expected to be released a few days before the examination. The admit card will be available on the official UPPSC website (uppsc.up.nic.in). It is an essential document for all candidates, containing important information about the candidate and the exam itself. The hall ticket must be carried to the examination center, as entry will be denied without it.

Candidates should regularly check the UPPSC website for updates regarding the release date of the admit card and other relevant instructions. The admit card will be issued separately for the prelims and mains stages of the exam, with the prelims admit card likely to be available shortly before December 22. Once the exam is conducted, the results will be declared separately for each stage, and candidates can access their scores through the official website.
