The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the JEE Main Result 2025 on April 19 on the their official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates were waiting for the result since April 17 however the final answer key was released a day later as intimated in a social media post by the NTA. Educationists and experts speculated the JEE Main 2025 cut-off would be higher this year as the 2024 cut-offs saw a 2.45% increase from past-year comparisons.
What are the JEE Main 2025 cut-offs?
Only the top 2.5 lakh students who clear the cut-off and percentile requirements would be eligible for the JEE Advanced 2025. With increased test-givers and competitive score, there were 24 candidates who scored the perfect NTA 100 score this year out of which 7 students were from Rajasthan alone.

JEE Main 2025 vs JEE Main 2024: Were the cut-offs higher?
The JEE Main Cutoff for general category (UR) was 93.23, EWS was 81.32, SC was 60.09, ST was 46.69, and OBC was 79.67 in 2024. However there were minor changes in 2025 cutoffs. While the General category (UR) was lowered by 0.13 this year, the JEE Main 2025 cut-off was lower than 2024 for the EWS category. There were significant fluctuations in OBC, by 3.2 points, ST by 1.3 points and SC by 1.06 points. While these are small numbers, the change observed has affected over the 10 lakh registered candidates for JEE Main 2025
What next after JEE Main 2025 cut-offs?
Students who have cleared the cut-offs can either register for JEE Advanced 2025 or sit for the counselling round organised by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) and take direct admission to the university. While the dates of the centralised counselling round are not declared yet, the JEE Advanced 2025 registration begins on April 23 for qualified candidates at jeeadv.ac.in.
