Here are some of the major updates announced by CBSE:
Below mentioned are some of the changes announced by CBSE:
1. No separate answer books for Accountancy
In the upcoming Board Exam in 2024, there won’t be special answer books for Accountancy. Instead, students will use regular answer sheets like in other subjects. This change will start in the 2023-24 board exams.
2. No overall marks like divisions or distinctions
For the 2024 Class 10 and Class 12 exams, CBSE won’t give overall marks like divisions or distinctions. This decision came after requests from students about how their marks are counted.
3. Special exams for sports events and Olympiads
Students participating in national or international sports events or Olympiads can take special exams later. This helps students who can’t appear for the regular exams due to these events. However, there won’t be special exams for compartment or practical exams.
4. Sample question papers and marking schemes released
CBSE released 60 sample question papers for Class 10 and 77 for Class 12. These are available on the official website, along with answers and marks for each answer.
5. Board exams twice a year, best score counts
Starting with the 2024 academic session, board exams will happen twice a year. Students can keep their best score from these exams. Also, students can choose the board exams for subjects they’ve completed and feel prepared for.
Additionally, as per the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, students in Classes 11 and 12 will have to study two languages, with at least one being an Indian language. They’ll have more flexibility to choose subjects, not limited to specific streams.
