The Xavier School of Management (XLRI) will conduct the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) tomorrow, January 5, 2025. This national-level entrance exam is a crucial step for candidates seeking admission to XLRI’s management programmes and other participating institutions.
Candidates who have not yet downloaded their admit cards must visit the official website, xatonline.in, to access and print them. It is mandatory to carry the admit card and a valid government-issued photo ID, such as a passport, Aadhaar card, or driving licence, to the examination centre.
The exam is scheduled to take place from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Candidates are advised to reach their designated examination centres at least one hour in advance to complete the necessary verification processes. The examination format for XAT 2025 includes some notable changes. The Analytical Essay Writing (AEW) section, previously a part of the written exam, has been moved to the Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD/PI) stage for shortlisted candidates.
Additionally, the General Knowledge section now consists of 20 questions instead of 25, with 12 questions focusing on current affairs and 8 on static general knowledge. This change is designed to strike a balance between assessing candidates’ awareness of ongoing events and their foundational knowledge.
The exam will be conducted in two parts. The first part will last 170 minutes, while the General Knowledge section will be completed in 10 minutes, keeping the total exam duration at 180 minutes. Candidates are reminded that mobile phones, calculators, and other electronic devices are strictly prohibited in the examination hall.
A simple dress code is recommended, avoiding accessories such as watches and jewellery. Any form of misconduct during the exam may lead to disqualification. These guidelines and updates are vital for ensuring a smooth and fair examination process.
