The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) released the final result of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2024 on Tuesday (April 22) at its official website. Shakti Dubey has secured the top position in the Civil Services Examination (CSE) this year, with Harshita Goyal following in second place.
According to the official government notification, a total of 1,129 vacancies will be filled through this recruitment drive. These include 180 positions in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), 55 in the Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and 147 in the Indian Police Service (IPS). In addition, there are 605 openings in Central Services Group ‘A’ and 142 in Group ‘B’ Services. The individual marks of candidates will be made available on the official website within 15 days from the result declaration date.
According to the notification issued by UPSC, the top three qualified candidates comprise two women and a man. Here are the profiles of the top three qualified candidates of the UPSC 2024 exam –

Shakti Dubey – UPSC Rank 1
Shakti Dubey, the All India Rank 1 holder, hails from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of Allahabad. According to the commission’s statement, she cleared the UPSC examination with Political Science and International Relations as her chosen optional subject.
Shakti, while speaking to the media, said, “I worked hard for many years. I told everyone at home, and they are all very happy. It was hard to believe at first, but the feeling is slowly sinking in… My brother had predicted that I would secure the first rank.”

Following Sakti Dubey’s remarkable achievement of securing the All India Rank 1 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024, Her mother, Prema Dubey, expressed her heartfelt emotions while speaking to the media. She said, “I am very happy, but she has been able to achieve this rank because of the blessings of Mahadev. I had no role to play. She studied day and night. She is in Delhi and will come home tomorrow..”

Harshita Goyal – UPSC Rank 2
Harshita Goyal secured the second position in the prestigious and highly competitive exam. She hails from Rohtak, Haryana. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. Her optional subject for the UPSC examination was Political Science and International Relations.

Dongre Archit Parag achieved the third rank in the UPSC 2024 results. He hails from Pune, Maharashtra. He holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore. He chose Philosophy as his optional subject.
