The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has extended the registration deadline for the Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2025 to February 18. Candidates applying for both the Civil Services (Preliminary)-2025 and Indian Forest Service (Preliminary)-2025 examinations now have until 6 pm on February 18 to complete their applications.
Originally, the last date for online applications was February 11 at 6 pm. Interested candidates must apply online through the official UPSC website, upsc.gov.in.
A correction window will be available from February 19 to February 25, allowing applicants to make necessary modifications to their forms. While the UPSC notice did not specify the reason for the extension, the news agency PTI reported that some applicants faced technical issues, prompting the Commission to grant additional time.
The Civil Services Preliminary Examination is scheduled for May 25. Approximately 979 vacancies are expected to be filled, including 38 positions reserved for candidates with benchmark disabilities.
Conducted annually in three stages—preliminary, mains, and interview—the civil services examination serves as the selection process for prestigious positions in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and other government roles.
