During the Freshers’ Welcome Ceremony 2023 at Rabindra Satabarsiki Bhavan Hall, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha expressed that the realisation of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ or ‘Ek Tripura Shrestha Tripura’ hinges upon the students who are destined to lead the nation in the times ahead. Saha underscored the pivotal role of students as the future architects of the country and highlighted the need for instilling values in addition to academic pursuits in every educational institution.
Emphasising the significance of knowledge, the Chief Minister noted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s advocacy for knowledge, asserting that those equipped with knowledge hold the world in their hands. He reflected on the transformative efforts initiated by Prime Minister Modi since 2014, particularly the comprehensive overhaul of the education system through the implementation of a new National Education Policy.
Saha urged teachers to shoulder the responsibility of acquainting students with the multifaceted aspects of the new National Education Policy. Beyond textbooks, he encouraged students to delve into the biographies of eminent figures such as Rabindranath Tagore, Swami Vivekananda, and Sri Aurobindo. According to Saha, fostering an interest in these subjects and cultivating positive thinking are crucial steps for the realisation of ‘Ek Tripura Shrestha Tripura.’
The Chief Minister concluded his address by stressing the importance of students advancing with a mindset focused on constructive thinking.
