STEMROBO Technologies, an ed-tech platform dedicated to advancing STEM, Robotics, IoT and Artificial Intelligence (AI), has unveiled a significant expansion of its operations in Ghana, West Africa. After successfully establishing more than 50 Tinkering Labs previously, STEMROBO has broadened its reach by introducing Tinkering Labs in more than 200 schools across Ghana, according to an official release.

The primary goal behind establishing these labs was to address the real-world challenges faced by K-12 students, including a lack of awareness among students, teachers and parents regarding STEM and its crucial role in education. Setting up Tinkering Labs in over 200 schools demonstrates STEMROBO’s commitment to meeting the urgent demand for practical STEM education in Ghana. Through these labs, students will engage in experiential learning, hands-on experimentation, and problem-solving activities, enhancing their grasp of STEM concepts and nurturing essential 21st-century skills. STEMROBO aims to inspire a new cohort of innovators, entrepreneurs and changemakers across Africa and beyond, the release mentioned.

Since their initial launch in April 2023, STEMROBO claims to have provided training to more than 50 teachers, significantly expanding the influence of their labs. With the latest expansion, they aim to extend their training to over 500 educators, further amplifying their impact in the education sector, as per the release.

“At STEMROBO, our mission is to empower students globally with the essential skills for success in the 21st century. The establishment of 200+ STEM robotics labs in Ghana marks a significant milestone in our journey to advance STEM education in Africa. These labs serve as catalysts for innovation, providing students with hands-on learning experiences and fostering a deep understanding of STEM concepts,” Rajeev Tiwari, co-founder, STEMROBO Technologies, said.

STEMROBO claims that its initiatives present a significant opportunity, reaching out to the 70% of schools in Ghana and other parts of Africa that have yet to embrace the potential of STEM subjects in today’s world. Encouragingly, 30% of the community already engaged in Ghana has actively embraced the integration of STEM, robotics and coding curricula in schools. Notable institutions such as Healthy-Mind International School, Perpetual Help School, RECT ACADEMY and Little Miracles International School, among others, have joined forces with STEMROBO in this transformative journey, it added.
