St. George’s University (SGU) School of Medicine, Grenada, West Indies, has recently launched a merit-based scholarship programme exclusively tailored for its international student body. Known as the SGU Academic Award, this scholarship is open to all incoming international students and is based on their academic achievements upon acceptance, according to an official release.
This new academic merit scholarship complements the existing International Peace Bursary and Global Scholars Bursary, offering eligible students the opportunity to qualify for multiple awards. The merit-based scholarship, determined by projected academic performance, aims to recognise and reward students for their scholastic accomplishments, the release mentioned.
Upon acceptance, SGU will issue a scholarship letter detailing the distribution of the scholarship per term and providing an estimated breakdown of total fees, which includes:
After deducting the scholarships/grants, the final amount will be presented, giving an estimate of the financial obligations going forward.
“Recognising the pivotal role of education in shaping the future of healthcare, SGU highly values and actively invests in learning opportunities. The expanded awards portfolio reflects its commitment to students, which extends beyond academics to address the individual needs of applicants and their families to provide comprehensive support,” the university stated.
