Madan Dilawar, education minister of Rajasthan known for his controversial remarks, asserts that the implementation of the New Education Policy (NEP) would soon commence in the state. Dilawar stated that the NEP would be executed in Rajasthan exactly as outlined, with a committee being formed by the BJP government for this purpose. He emphasised that the policy, announced in 2020, was delayed due to the previous Congress government’s indifference, according to an official statement.

Addressing his earlier comments on the alleged Indian inventor of the aeroplane and Akbar’s history, Dilawar maintained that his statements were rooted in historical facts rather than personal claims. He cited examples such as Shivkar Bapuji Talpade’s aircraft flight in Mumbai and Dilip Mahalanabis’s research on ORS, underscoring the importance of public awareness, the statement mentioned.

Regarding the inclusion of such topics in the school curriculum, Dilawar suggested that while not everything could be included, these facts should be disseminated through discussions and publicity. Regarding the review of the previous government’s decisions, Dilawar mentioned the formation of a committee by chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma to assess the last six months’ works. He clarified existing directives for schools, emphasising that there were no provisions allowing teachers to engage in religious activities during school hours.

Addressing the suspension of three Muslim teachers in Kota, Dilawar stated that they were found guilty of forcing students to participate in religious activities and changing a Hindu girl’s name to an Islamic one. He reiterated the government’s stance against activities promoting ‘love jihad’ and religious conversion in schools, it added.
