Due to severe cold weather conditions in Noida and Greater Noida, the Gautam Buddh Nagar administration has issued an order for the closure of all schools for students up to grade 8th until January 6th, according to an official statement.
The directive primarily targets certain private schools that are still conducting classes, while government schools are already on a winter break until January 14. Furthermore, the administration has mandated that schools offering grades 9th-12th operate only between 10 am and 3 pm, the statement mentioned.
Government schools, currently on winter break, are scheduled to resume classes on January 15. In a separate announcement, Dharmveer Singh , district inspector of schools emphasised that, due to dense fog and extreme cold, classes from class 9th to class 12th must adhere to a schedule of 10 am to 3 pm in all schools, with strict compliance required.
