The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is all set to begin the NEET UG 2025 counselling process on July 21. This counselling process is for admission to 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats in MBBS, BDS, BSc Nursing, and AYUSH courses. Once the portal is live, candidates can fill out the registration form on the official website – mcc.nic.in. 

The portal will also soon display the tentative seat matrix, list of participating colleges and the official counselling brochure. The NEET UG 2025 result was announced on June 14.

How to register for NEET UG 2025 counselling

Once registrations open on July 21, students can follow these simple steps to register:

  1. Visit the official website – mcc.nic.in
  2. Click on the “UG Medical Counselling” section
  3. Log in or register using NEET UG credentials
  4. Fill out the application form and pay the counselling fee
  5. Upload the required documents (scorecard, photo ID, certificates)
  6. Fill in your choice of colleges and lock your preferences
  7. Download and save the confirmation page

NEET UG 2025 counselling: State and central schedule

The counselling process will be conducted in two phases. State Quota Counselling will begin from July 21 and will continue till July 30, while the  AIQ/Deemed/Central Institutions Counselling will start on July 30 till August 6.

NEET UG 2025 counselling: Eligibility criteria

Only candidates who have qualified NEET UG 2025 are eligible for the counselling. The MCC will conduct counselling for:

-15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats
-100% seats at AIIMS, JIPMER, BHU, AMU, and ESIC
-Institutional quota seats under MCC purview
-Admissions to Central and Deemed Universities
-AFMC and ESIC’s Insured Person (IP) quota

NEET UG 2025 counselling: Round 1 counselling timeline

The counselling schedule for Round 1 will begin with seat matrix verification by the NMC and participating institutes on July 18 and 19. Candidates can register and pay the counselling fee between July 21 and July 28, with the payment window closing at 3:00 PM on the last day. 

Choice filling will be open from July 22 to July 28, up to 11:55 PM and candidates must lock their choices on July 28 between 4:00 PM and 11:55 PM. The seat allotment process will take place on July 29 and 30, followed by the result announcement on July 31. Those allotted seats must report to their respective institutes between August 1 and 6. Final data verification by the institutes will be conducted on August 7 and 8.

Official guidelines for participating institutes

The MCC has directed all participating institutions to strictly adhere to the counselling timeline. Given the tight schedule, Saturdays, Sundays, and Gazetted Holidays will be treated as regular working days during the counselling period.
