Marwadi University, a private university in Gujarat, recently marked its 6th convocation ceremony, bringing together students, faculty and chief guest Arif Mohammad Khan, governor, Kerala. This university claims that this event signified a noteworthy achievement in its journey, as 2,051 students, including 366 international students from Syria, South Sudan, U.A.E, Zambia, among others, received their degrees and diplomas, according to an official release.

The university asserts to have published 246 research papers in the past academic year. The university’s H-index has surged from 26 to 37, underscoring the increased quality and impact of its research endeavors. Furthermore, the university claims to have allocated a seed grant of nearly Rs one crore to support the initiatives of emerging researchers, the release mentioned.

Marwadi University claims to have committed to preparing students for the evolving job market, exemplified by the presence of 444 companies on campus during the academic year 2022-23. These companies offered a total of 850 job positions, with the highest salary package reaching Rs 22 Lakhs per annum, as per the release.

“Despite having achieved a remarkable milestone, you cannot rest as your own body of work is yet to come. And you should keep aiming at high standards of excellence in future as well. Further, the acquisition of knowledge without the growth of wisdom and empathy or compassion can degenerate us and such knowledge without compassion, human values is a threat to fellow human beings,” Khan said.

Marwadi University further claims to have unveiled five new programmes spanning various disciplines for the academic year 2022-23. These programmes encompass B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Data Science, B.Sc. (Hons.) in Economics and M.Pharm. in Pharmaceutics and Regulatory Affairs. In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP), the university also restructured existing programmes to adhere to evolving educational guidelines.
