The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2024 has commenced the online application and choice filling process starting today. Candidates who have met the JEE Main cut-off and qualified for JEE Advanced 2024 can register for JoSAA counselling online before June 18. Registration and choice filling can be done on the official website, josaa.nic.in. Additionally, pre-payment of the JoSAA seat acceptance fee also begins today.
Admissions to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and some government-funded technical institutes (GFTIs) will be conducted through JoSAA’s online counselling and seat allocation process. This process is based on marks scored and ranks obtained in JEE Main 2024 and JEE Advanced 2024.
JoSAA Counselling 2024: Key dates
To access the JoSAA registration and choice filling portal, candidates must enter their JEE Main application number and password. The choice filling option will only be available after completing the registration process. The counselling process includes registration, choice filling and locking, seat allocation, and reporting to the allotted institute.
Seat allotment will occur over five rounds, determined by candidates’ merits and their preferences for courses and colleges. Candidates can check the allotment results to see which institutes they may be allocated based on their entrance exam rank.
