JEE Main 2025 Question Paper Solution: The Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) BTech and BE paper for the January 2025 session began with exams held on the first day. The paper consisted of mathematics, physics, and chemistry, with a total of 300 marks. The JEE Main Day 1 exam was conducted in two shifts: the first from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and the second from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

The January 2025 JEE Main BTech paper was divided into three subjects – physics, chemistry, and mathematics. Each subject had two sections. Section 1 comprised 20 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) with a single correct answer, while Section 2 included 5 numerical-based questions.

In 2024, the overall difficulty level of JEE Main was rated as moderate to difficult. That year, the number of candidates achieving a perfect 100 percentile score increased by 13 compared to 2023, with a total of 56 candidates earning a 100 NTA score in Paper 1 (BE/BTech).

The cut-off scores for JEE Advanced have shown a consistent upward trend in recent years. For general category candidates, the cut-off in 2024 was 93.23, an increase from 90.77 in 2023, 88.4 in 2022, and 87.9 in 2021. Previous qualifying scores for the general category were 90.3 in 2020 and 89.7 in 2019.

For SC candidates, the cut-off in 2024 was 60.09, a significant rise from 51.97 in 2023, 43.08 in 2022, and 46.8 in 2021. In earlier years, the qualifying scores were 50.1 in 2020 and 54.01 in 2019. Similarly, for ST candidates, the 2024 cut-off was 46.69, compared to 37.23 in 2023, 26.7 in 2022, and 34.6 in 2021. The qualifying scores for ST candidates in 2020 and 2019 were higher, at 39.06 and 44.3, respectively.

The OBC (non-creamy layer) category cut-off also rose to 79.67 in 2024 from 73.61 in 2023, 67 in 2022, and 68.02 in 2021, while the scores in 2020 and 2019 stood at 72.8 and 70.34, respectively. For the EWS category, the 2024 cut-off was 75.62, a sharp increase from 63.11 in 2023.
