Mohan Yadav, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, announced that the Ujjain satellite campus of IIT Indore has obtained approval from the central government.

Highlighting the significance of this Satellite Campus, the Chief Minister emphasised its positive impact on students, teachers, and industrial workers. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has given preliminary approval to the satellite campus, according to the CM.

CM Sharma met with Union Education, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship Minister Pradhan at his residence in New Delhi on Thursday. The discussions primarily focused on matters related to education and skill development.

CM Yadav revealed that the proposal for establishing a satellite campus in Ujjain was formulated by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Indore, and submitted to the Education Ministry for approval in 2023.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister updated Union Minister Pradhan on four upcoming skill courses provided by IIT Delhi in Madhya Pradesh. These include Augmented Reality-Virtual Reality (AR/VR) courses at Mahila Polytechnic College, Bhopal, Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) courses at Jabalpur Engineering College, and Blockchain courses at Ujjain Engineering College. These courses, operating under the Sankalp Yojana of the Ministry of Entrepreneurship, aim to skillfully develop 1000 youth in each category.

CM Yadav also disclosed plans for establishing a Center of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence and Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality by IIT Delhi in Sant Shiromani Ravidas Global Skill Park, located in Bhopal.

Furthermore, he mentioned the decision to appoint IIT Delhi as the technical advisor, replacing ITE, Singapore, for courses offered at Sant Shiromani Ravidas Global Skill Park.
