In our ever-changing and fast-paced world, the rise of technology has shown to be efficient and successful, but it has also had a wide-ranging impact on employability, with students struggling to get jobs in top-tier companies. In recent years, the lay-off ratio has increased to 22% in Indian companies, making it difficult for students to work. To be accepted into prestigious universities, students must study a variety of talents and be capable of multitasking. It is also critical to plan improved placement opportunities for students when they graduate. The university and faculty should assist students in getting better placements.

Job fairs, internships, work placements, research assistant positions, and maintaining a professional internet presence are all effective techniques for fresh graduates looking for a job. Attending job fairs allows you to meet employers, pass out resumes, and interview right away, whereas internships and work placements improve your chances of landing a job by putting your academic talents to use in real-world situations. Furthermore, research assistant employment provides excellent academic experience, and keeping a professional internet presence is essential for making a good impression on potential employers.

To improve your career prospects, work on developing a professional online presence by eliminating inappropriate content from your social media profiles or changing your privacy settings. Job fairs provide an ideal opportunity to meet with multiple businesses and do on-the-spot interviews, whilst work placements provide hands-on experience that will help you stand out among other grads. Employment boards help to expedite the recruiting process by reaching a larger audience and working as a research assistant at a college or university can provide significant experience in a variety of industries.

Internships, capstones, and service-learning have been shown to have a significant impact on graduate outcomes such as employment, continuing education, and salary. Internships have been linked to higher job success and placement rates after graduation. To succeed in campus placement, students should research companies, improve their resume and cover letter, attend mock interview sessions, strengthen their knowledge foundation, stay up to date on industry trends, highlight their unique selling proposition (USP), and hone their aptitude skills. These techniques improve their competitiveness in the job market and raise their chances of landing desirable work prospects.

In today’s competitive job market, institutions and faculty must actively assist students in obtaining better placements following graduation. Students can have hands-on experience and stand out to future employers by providing a varied range of learning opportunities, like as internships, job placements, and research assistant roles. The necessity of maintaining a professional online presence and giving students resources to help them improve their job-searching skills can boost their chances of success. Finally, by providing students with the appropriate skills and opportunities, universities can enable them to excel in their jobs and make meaningful contributions to the workforce.
