The delegation from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem recently visited India to strengthen academic ties with several Indian universities. During the visit, they explored opportunities for research collaboration, student and faculty exchanges and sharing knowledge and expertise across various academic disciplines, according to an official release.

The delegation included distinguished faculty members and administrators from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. They engaged with representatives from Indian universities, including the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT-D), All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT-B), Indian Institute of Science (IISc), National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) and Indian Institute of Management Bengaluru (IIM-B), fostering collaboration and cultural exchange, the release mentioned.

Collaboration between the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Indian universities is poised to positively impact the international academic landscape as both nations strive for excellence in various academic disciplines.

“This visit represents a commitment to fostering academic ties, promoting cultural exchange and contributing to the global knowledge ecosystem. We believe that by working together, we can create meaningful opportunities for students and faculty from both Israel and India,” Oron Shagrir, vice-president, international affairs, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, said.

The Israeli delegation delved into opportunities for collaborative research endeavours and partnerships with Indian universities, nurturing interdisciplinary cooperation to tackle worldwide issues. Their goal was to investigate and set up structures for exchanging students and faculty, fostering mutual cultural appreciation, and enhancing the academic journey for scholars from both Israel and India, as per the release.
